During the volleyball unit, we practiced volleyball with our classmates such as simple drills that can improve our serving and receiving skills. With every lesson starting with stretching for 5 - 7 minutes, we had organized lessons with a lot of student interaction. A student would lead the class with stretching and the leader would change every lesson with a rotation system. For the majority of our lessons with the volleybal unit, the whole class would get to play at the same time because fortunately, our gym was big enough to accomodate all students at once. There are a total of 6 teams in our grade both 8A and 8B, with each team having an average of 5 students. So that meant that all six teams played at the same time which made our class very productive. There were 3 courts in total. With 2 teams versing each other, we had a summative with the team that beats the other teams winning. We would also do drills and excersies within the team to practice and get ready for the tournament/summative assessment.

Volleyball
Kickball
Basketball

In the kickball unit, we got to play kickball for quite a lot of sessions. We learned the rules of kickball and played games in the field. The field would be glazing hot every class but we endured the heat and had much fun under the sun. While playing, I would learn new techniques and learn new rules. However, I still need to improve on kicking the ball right. For the teams of the games, the teams were changed most of the lessons based on the tournament teams. We appointed each student for a position in the field. There would be a pitcher, the catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, etc. We got to apply our knowledge of this sport into practical use in this opportunity.

Basketball! One of the most famous sports around the world. In this basketball unit, there were several drills. We almost had drills every class, and they were quite fun. In the drills, we would practice our shooting skills, dribbing skills, and other skils required to play basketball well. For some of the practice, we would pick a partner and pass the ball to each other back and forth while jogging to the other side of the court. After doing all of these drills, we played games with new teams aside from the tournament groups. We would usually get teamed up according to our house team or class team. The games were quite fun and made everyone exhausted in the end. We improved class by class and was a great experience for us all.

Dance

For the dance unit, we learned the jive dance. We were taught by our coaches and practiced in the studio. We often used JustDance for starters and have some sort of a hook to our lesson. We danced to the song "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor with Jive. I think the class practiced really hard and we all had fun. We were assigned partners to practice with. Finally, we danced with them in the Christmas party in front of the school. In our lessons, we had our assinged placed in the studio with the teachers in front of the mirrored wall. With the music, we would follow the steps our teacher demonstrates. For the summative, we had to dance with our tournament teams. We had to make our own remix of songs of our choice and make dance steps or get dance steps from the internet. We also made dance prototype reports and made our own song remix.

Badminton

Our badminton unit was really fun in my own opinion. We got to practice with partners or small groups and it was really fun. That may also be because I personally like the sport badminton, but our lessons were entertaining. Just like our other units, we learned new rules and tips of badminton while playing. We also had drills where we got to practice smashing, long pass, and more. In our tournament groups, we picked partners and versed the partners from other teams. I think I was able to improve a lot in this badminton unit.

Swimming

Swimming was quite a challenge for me. Every time we had swimming lessons, it was really hard. Swimming several laps in the pool may have been fun, but tiring and hard. Before the summative, we practiced with the styrofoam boards and swam the shallow area of the pool back and forth in groups. We also got to play water polo sometimes. Since we live near the equator, our climate is quite hot and swimming helped us refresh and feel great. While swimming, we learned new techniques such as the freestyle stroke, breast stroke, and the butterfly stroke.

Soccer

In our soccer unit, we did both futsal and soccer. With playing futsal in the gym and soccer in the soccer field. Learning soccer was quite fun and was also hard. There were a lot of drills like basketball but using our feet. We did passing practices and shooting practices. We would also have drills to improve our skills in handling and dribbling the soccer ball. We played several games and learned rules while playing like any other sport unti we had.
