What is a mural painting?
Mural painting is painting on walls, ceilings, or any permanent surface. What makes mural painting special or unique, is that it’s usually of a bigger scale than painting or drawing on paper or you sketchpad. Also, since mural painting is usually big, it delivers a message to its viewers. Those messages are of such kinds I discussed a while ago. So they can have social meanings, political, environmental, ethical, or even personal! It doesn’t matter, and it just depends on the artist.
Do you think words are stronger than images or images are stronger than words?
I think both are really strong. They both have the power to tell a story and are both effective. History and evidence shows how people have been using either method to tell their own stories, deliver a message, and do for a cause. However, images may attract more people sometimes as it is may be quite a bit easier to have access by the public. For example, people can see images really quickly and easily even though they get a short glimpse of it. But in such cases of writings, people take slightly longer to understand and read.
Message:
The main message is that the society is not fully accepting gay or lesbian love. It delivers the message that all love is the same. It shows a production line starting with skeletal bodies. Then, as they go through the first machine, the bodies get genders. On the last step, robotic arms take out the couples that are the same sex, but leave the straight couples to go to go on. This tells the audience that the society is excluding gay and lesbian lovers. If you see the first step, the couples are just skeletal bodies with love, and this shows that before they are stereotyped (like boys wear what they should wear, girls wear what they should wear) they are the same human beings. So the second message this delivers is that the gender stereotypes is excluding the couples that aren’t straight.

Art Style:
The art style will be mural with a cartoonish theme. It won’t have complicated designs and will have simple shapes.

I conclude that this was quite okay because the design is easy to draw in a larger scale. It also uses several colors that will attract the viewers. It has a good message which will help people save and plant more trees. Because they are the lungs of Earth.

This project is about making a mural on one of the assigned walls inside the campus. We will be in groups, and with our teammates, we will decide on how to decorate our wall. The walls of each team will display what they desire to share with the others. These mural paintings we create must have a message on social awareness, current events, moral awareness, etc. whether it is hidden or not. And these paintings can be drawings of anything that depicts something with a meaning such as the example messages I stated a while ago such as endangered animals, pollution, corruption, or racial discrimination. These cases can be drawn through anyway that can best deliver the message to the viewers. But of course, it should be appropriate for school and will be made using brushes and water based paints. We will use the time we are given, which is DT class time. Through class time, we will use the design cycle to accomplish our work. First, we will investigate (which is the current stage I’m on), then the design and plan stage. Next, we will go to the most exciting stage which is the creating stage. Lastly, we will reach our goal when we finish our evaluation stage. We currently have 4 classes per stage to finish the task. So when we paint our wall, we will be painting with our paintbrushes obviously and we will use water-based paint obviously. We will carefully paint the wall since we can’t really undo or erase what we draw on the wall once also because we’re using strong sustainable paint.
