Introduction:

Food preservation is essential for the population of the world. It keeps food healthy and fresh for a longer time than it would last if it was left in on the table without anything preserving it. As food preservation developed through the ages, in the world today, you will be able to see both negative and positive effects of the development of food preservation. A negative result of the food preservation nowadays is using preservatives which contain bad chemicals for our body. Some examples of the methods of preservation in the past are drying, refrigeration (without the use of refrigerators, but usually used store them underground), and fermentation. These old methods have evolved and influenced the methods we use today; we still use some old methods though. These modern methods include canning, pasteurization, freezing, irradiation, and use of chemicals. Packaging has played a big role in preservation in the modern world. If food preservation wasn't as developed, we wouldn't be able to pack lunch like we do, buy food as convenient as these days, and also we might not have been able to eat fresh food. Food preservation has made it possible for people in different areas try new and different food and also let them have access to healthy food which is required for intake in a healthy person's body. We need to find a way to preserve food. This has to be done in a hygienic manner so that the food will be kept fresh for a long time. The food can’t be ice-cream though, or any other type of food that requires a long time to make. So we need to pick a type of food that won’t require a complex process.

Conclusion:

I conclude that whatever food we cook, it needs to have not too much steps or be complicated. And they shouldn’t require dangerous tasks that may result in injuries. Also, the ingredients and materials should be something we can find in the supermarkets here. This means that they should also be cheap, or in other words, be in our budget range. We can’t be making too expensive dishes as we are just experimenting and learning about food preservation. We would also need to have the kitchen clean and hygienic at all times since we don’t want spoiled food. Therefore, we will be cooking and preserving a food that can be easily cooked, and is cheap, but is a good example to use for preserving it.
