What is the design cycle?

This is a tool used by the International Baccalaureate students to help them create projects and evaluate them. It leads them to productively accomplish their work with well structured steps in each and every stage.

 

Investigation Stage:

This is the first stage of the Design Cycle. As it is the first stage, it sets the goal, and is the brainstorming part on searching for what to accomplish by the end of the cycle.

 

Design and Plan Stage:

In the second stage, you plan and ask questions. You can also search whether you have the materials required. After planning, you will start to design. Now you can draw sketches and start listing your material list.

 

Creating Stage:

Finally! In this stage, you simply create! Based on your brainstorming and plannings from your previous stages, you will use the provided information to produce your final work!

 

Evaluation Stage:

This is the last stage. And in this final step of the Design Cycle, you will evaluate the product you created implementing the previous 4 steps. You can ask yourself questions that will help you do better next time.
